Upper East Side, NYC

It has long become a personal tradition to take pictures of the first major snowfall(s) in New York City.

And although I am under near strict orders from several doctors to keep my outdoor activities to a bare minimum — especially during inclement weather — I could not not take pictures of this day's first flurries, managing to do so only in the block radius I have been allowed to travel.

I've taken the near same shot of the cross street I live on, enjoying watching the branches of the trees — that line both sides of the street — grow towards each other over the decades that I've lived here.

Plus I get the opportunity to grab some new local visuals, with the brand new addition and opening of the long-awaited Second Avenue Subway.

I wasn't outside in the mild "blizzard" for more than 10 minutes, which has good as my camera doesn't care for the warm weather. And with the bad back starting to strain, I figured I'd finally be responsible enough to get back home — less I eventually suffer the same fate as this unfortunate umbrella.
